Jack Homer 1918: B-17 Navigator 10th AF CBI Mission
June 4, 1942 his plane was alone when attacked by 24 Japanese Zero’s and was shot down. He was a POW for 3.5 years in Rangoon, was released April 29, 1945 in Burma. Jack was the first POW of Japan who spoke well of his captors. On the day of the shoot down, he flew from Calcutta, India to an airport on the outskirts of Rangoon at Migladon airport.
