Sam tells about his training in the very tough times of 1940 having arrived in England in 1939 when England’s back was really up against a wall. He made missions over Plostie Romania as well as Germany and France. He had only two week of flying lessons with a training pilot then he was on his own with no co-pilot to help with the piloting. He was shot down in 1942. He flew a very primitive bomber but again he was in England at a very dark time in her history.
