Fulop, Alexander

Posted on 14 September, 2021 by in ,

This Bio of Alexander Fulop born 1929 was put on computer 10 January 2019 by interviewer Larry Martin.  His interview is one hour long with a lot of history of communism.

Alex was born in the outskirts of Budapest Hungary.  He fought a little ( he was only 16 when the war ended) with the German Army in Budapest against the Russian Army.  He saw German political prisoners killed by the Nazi’s.  The prisoners had been in prison for being political dissidents.

Alex witnessed and tells about the Hungarian revolt in 1956.  He was beaten and jailed by the Hungarian  government strongly influenced by Russian communists.  He said his church was spied on by communists who hated God and religion.

He came here illegally in 1957 as a illegal alien.  He was in Austria when the war ended trying to get away from the Russians.

I introduced him to a German soldier who lives here in Zephyrhills during the winters named Adolf Lohner who fought in Budapest and was taken POW by the Russians.  They were both excited to meet to talk about the fighting in Budapest.  I think I have that on DVD as well as a one hour interview with Mr. Lohner.

At the end of Alex’s interview he cried in 2012 about how good it is to be here in America.
