Franstead, Dick

Dick was in the 11th Airborne Co. “G” in the Philippine battles. He did not make the jump into Los Banos but did a lot of fighting in Layte, Luzon and Manilla. He was in the hospital with a lot of the Los Banos survivors. He must have been one of the early men in the 11th Airborne because he said that Jack McGrath of the 11th Airborne who I knew well from Missouri could not have been in the Airborne in the early day’s because Jack wore glasses.
