Fred Bahlau 101st Airborne

Fred Bahlau, Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Div.   Fred jumped into Normandy into darkness as massive amounts of artillery as well as many other kinds of fire coming up at the Screaming Eagles on the early morning of June 6th 1944, where he fought for over a month.  He also tells of his parachuting into Holland on the 17th of Sept. 1944 near the “Bridge to Far”.  He was surrounded by German forces in the Battle of the Bulge at Bastonge in the freezing winter of 1944-45.  He received two silver stars and two battlefield promotions to 1st Lieutenant.  I also have a picture of Fred setting in a limousine owned by Deputy Reich Fuhrer (second only to Adolf Hitler) Herman Goring.  Goring had been convinced to give up his auto by the men of the 101st airborne as well as many airmen of the British and American Air Corps.
