Listen as Lt. Angier tells of his training to become a B-17 pilot during WW II. Francis made 33 missions mostly over Germany before being shot down and becoming a POW in Stalag Luft III which is where the Great Escape took place several months before Lt. Angier arrived there. This escape was made into a movie in 1963 with James Garner and Steve McQueen. He will tell of his missions and the shooting down of his aircraft with the loss of three on his men and his injuries that plague him today.
