Listen as Fred tells all aspects of his combat in WW II. He enlisted in the Army and went directly into the Paratroopers which he had never heard of. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne. He tells of his training which included jumping from a 250 foot tower. He parachuted into Normandy on D-Day June 6th 1944. His next combat was in Holland called Operation Market Garden under British General Montgomery which most American troops did not like. He next fought completely surrounded in Bastogne Belgium at the Battle of the Bulge in freezing weather. I have a picture of Fred in the #2 German leader Herman Goring’s automobile. Fred tells his history very interestingly and funny at times.
