Jim Leavelle Dallas Det. Kennedy assassination.

Posted on 12 January, 2016 by in , ,

Hello Folks,

I traveled to Dallas Texas to interview a man who was  witness to two of Americas most important pieces of history in the last one hundred years.  Jim was at Pearl Harbor on the day of the Japanese attack on Dec. 7th 1941 aboard the USS Whitney.  He tells about the surprise attack from  his ship on the Pacific Fleet.

He also gave me my first interview that was not primarily WW II.  Jim was the Dallas Policeman who was handcuffed to Lee Harvey Oswald at the time that Jack Ruby shot and killed him.  Hear Jim tell about Dallas policeman named L.C. Graves who Jim  feels to this day saved his life at the  shooting of Lee Oswald by grabbing Ruby’s 38 revolver by the cylinder so that Ruby could not fire anymore even though Jim could see Ruby trying constantly to pull the trigger.

Jim was involved with Oswald very quickly on that fateful day in November 1063 because Oswald had shot four times and killed a Dallas policeman named J. D. Tippett  very soon after the assassination of Pres. Kennedy, which the police had not yet tied to Oswald.  Det. Leavelle’s duties were to investigate any police officer involved shootings.

I had been introduced to Jim by a WW II veteran combat Marine from the 1st Marine Division named R.V. Burgin who you can google to hear of his three horrific battles in  the Pacific.  R.V. asked me if I liked history other than WW II when I said that I liked all history he told me that he had known Jim Leavelle for a number of years and would I like to speak to him on the phone.  I now have both interviews on DVD.

Jim talks how he had known Jack Ruby for  13 yrs. while Jim was still in uniform and would go into Ruby’s bar to stop fights and other alcohol related calls.  Hear Jim talk about kidding with Oswald that if someone tried to shoot his (Oswald) that Jim hoped the shooter was as good a shot as Oswald had been.  Oswald laughed and said no one was going to try to kill him and he was dead in a matter of a very short time.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE ANY OTHER INFO ABOUT ANYTHING THAT JIM HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE KILLING OF THE PRESIDENT, or OSWALD and JACK RUBY OR ANY OF MY OTHER 115 DVD INTERVIEWS GO TO   WHERE IT SAYS TO CONTACT LARRY WHERE YOU CAN SUBMIT ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE.   I HOPE TO HEAR FROM MANY OF YOU WITH QUESTIONS OR THOUGHTS ABOUT WHAT JIM TOLD ME ABOUT THE ASSASSINATION OR HIS TESTIMONY BEFORE THE WARREN COMMISION.
